11:00 All About Dogs (3-8)

Grades: 3-8
This class is for those of you who love dogs and want to dive deeper into the canine phoenomena! Students will learn about different breeds and interesting dog history. They will engage in activities like making dog treats and toys to be donated to a local shelter and engage in other dog-related crafts and activities.
11:00 Bike and Hike (5-8)

Grades: 5-8
Bike and hike the beautiful Glencoe trails. Explore the beach, Green Bay Trail, Ravinia, and the Skokie Lagoons. All this plus orienteering, scavenger hunts, biking and hiking, safety, bike maintenance and fitness. Students will be given a safety presentation and bike registration from Glencoe Public Safety. For riding safety, and in order to keep up with the group, competent biking skils and a helmet is required. Also, a properly sized bike (24" wheels recommended) with gears in good working order is necessary.

Become a roving reporter this summer for Explorations News! Learn the basic structure of newswriting and tackle a variety of articles including Explorations news and happenings, local news, national news, weather, sports, book/movie/gaming reviews, interviews with staff and students, puzzles, cartoons, and more. There is something for everyone in this newsworthy class!
11:00 Intro to Rocketry (5-8)

Grades: 5-8
Students will learn to build rockets from kits. They will learn about the physics of flight, and use this to increase their rocket's performance in subsequent launches. This class is for students new to building their own rockets.

Grades: 1-4
Students will learn fun, choreographed dances. They will learn about reps and beats, using this to create their own dance routine. Students will also learn about dances and dancers in history.
11:00 M-Cubed: Making Meaning Out of Mathematics (6-8)

Join us for a project-based math course that will help students discover the power of math as they work together on fun, hands-on challenges. They will approach real-world problems as a team, organically practicing the skills required for successful collaboration in any context. Students’ problem-solving, communication, adaptability, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills will be tested as they work together to devise practical solutions to real-world problems.

Unleash your inner actor in this low key, high fun class! Students will build reading fluency, expression, and confidence with engaging scripts that kids will love to read aloud! Reader's theatre is a great way for students to learn and recognize the nuances of fictional text structures, especially dialogue.
